Solutions Engineer (Implementation)

Responsibilities:
• Work directly with customers to scope, gather, review, create, and implement their business / functional requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessary part of the job.
• Work hands on with Symantec Altiris ITMS system to configure and test it to ensure that it meets the business requirements.
• Work with the SymantecAltiris ITMS system and its users to test the implementation, achieve signoff (UAT), and continue to move the system toward go-live.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Actively participate in team and departmental meetings by providing feedback on current day to day activity and recommendations for improvement.
• Respond to customer issues in prescribed timelines and service levels.
• Analyze and clarify customer queries though troubleshooting and researching existing knowledge base articles/known issues.
• Sets clear objectives for direct reports and compares deliverables against objectives.
• Willingly to travel overseas for system deployment.
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-3 years working experience as a business analyst/systems engineer in a systems integrator (SI) or similar environment.
Preferred Requirements
• Comfortable in a client-facing environment.
• Familiar with Microsoft SCCM or Symantec Altiris or similar systems is a plus.
• ITIL Certified is a plus
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Proficient in database programming language (SQL).
• Familiar with Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of MSSQL Database servers, Windows Desktop or Server operating systems is a plus.
